Gridiron Gab Preview Week Five – Atlanta at Cleveland

Atlanta Falcons Vs Cleveland Browns

Where: Cleveland Browns Stadium

Time: 1:00 p.m

Weather: Low 70’s and Clear

What to look for :

T.J. Ward

Is the rookie going to continue to play his game and lay opponents out if given the opportunity this Sunday against the Falcons? The Browns really need Ward to continue to be the enforcer in the secondary and could really use him this Sunday to make some big plays in the secondary. He is the best player on the defensive side of the ball for the Browns this season.

Jake Delhomme

Everything is pointing for Delhomme to start on Sunday against the Falcons. Delhomme is looking to bounce back from a his only start of the season a loss in week one against Tampa Bay. Jake is the leader of the offense and needs to lead this team to a win this Sunday at the stadium. We can’t afford him to throw stupid passes that lead to turnovers for the Cleveland Browns.

Eric Wright

Wright needs to get his head back on straight after two disappointing weeks against division rivals. Wright is a good corner-back in this league and has showed it over his young Browns career but needs to gain some confidence back this Sunday. Eric will have another tough task this week with the Falcons coming to town with a dangerous passing attack led by Matt Ryan and Roddy White.

Browns Running Game

The running game has been lead by Peyton Hillis the past two weeks and has looked good pounding the football against  two pretty good defenses. The running game led the Brown and Orange to there first victory of the season last Sunday at the stadium. If this team is going to have any success this season they are going to need it to be just as effective as it has been lately. I am looking for Hillis to have another big game running the football. I wonder how much Harrison is going to get on the field this week?

Keys to the Game

Contain Matt Ryan and the Falcons Passing attack

Establish Running the football

Win the Turnover battle

Cut out the Stupid Penalties

The Browns need to win back to back games at the Stadium this Sunday heading into Hell next week to take on the Steelers.  The Browns really need Peyton Hillis to continue to run the football like he has been doing and get some sort of passing game going to compliment it. The Falcons are really good team and it isn’t going to be an easy task for our Cleveland Browns to get the victory on Sunday. This is the biggest game the Browns have had since Coach Mangini has been here. It is very important this team can head into Pittsburgh with some momentum.
