Stafford will not start against Rams

Sharpshooter Stafford will miss at least another week

Although Stafford was throwing in practice with his injured right shoulder, he will not suit up Sunday for St. Louis.  The 2009 #1 overall pick from Georgia is on schedule with his rehab, yet the team hasn’t issued an accurate report pinpointing his return.  No need to rush the face of the franchise, the team is still without a win.  The former Bulldog should be out of action until he is completely 100% ready.

Head coach Jim Schwartz on Stafford: “When he’s ready to get back out there, then he’ll be in the mix, but until then we’re still taking the steps along the way,”

“He’s right on schedule of what we wanted him to do so we’re OK with that.”

Also, look for the Lions to keep him on the sidelines next week in the Big Apple against the Giants.   It would be a smart choice to wait until after the Bye for Stafford to return in Week 8 against Washington in Detroit.  Keep rockin’ the baseball cap Matt.
