Jets WR Santonio Holmes back and looking sharp following suspension

The Jets have been playing good football since their opening night loss to the Ravens, and will get even better this week when they play the Vikings.

The offseason pickup of Santonio Holmes by the club came with a four-game suspension of the former Super Bowl MVP, but it’s over, and he’s ready to go.

“It’s going to be huge for us,” Rex Ryan said. “He looks sharp, looks like has hasn’t missed a beat.”

Holmes, who last season with the Steelers had 1248 yards with five touchdowns and 79 grabs, was called maybe the best player on the field by Ryan during an episode of “Hard Knocks” on HBO this past summer.

He will help out a passing game that has been steadily getting better since the 10-9 loss to the Ravens in week one. One player that has also been stepping up is tight end Dustin Keller. With Holmes, Braylon Edwards, and Keller, the Jets passing game could be one of the better ones in the AFC for the last three quarters of the season.
