Now that starting RB LeSean McCoy could miss time with a broken rib, the Eagles could be calling for running backs. One report says they have already done that, calling the Bills to see if Marshawn Lynch is available for the taking.
With LeSean McCoy out indefinitely with a broken rib, the Eagles have contacted the Bills about the availability of veteran running back Marshawn Lynch, a league source said today. McCoy suffered one broken rib during the Eagles’ 17-12 loss to the Redskins Sunday at the Linc. Andy Reid did not say how much time he will miss. Lynch has fallen out of favor in Buffalo after rushing for over 1,000 yards in his first two NFL seasons, 2007 and 2008. Other than McCoy, the Eagles have only Mike Bell, who is averaging 1.7 yards on 12 carries; rarely used Eldra Buckley, who committed a costly fumble against the Packers on his only touch of the 2010 season; and undrafted rookie Joique Bell, who has never played in a regular-season game.
