Eagles QB Vick has a rib cartilage injury; McCoy has a fractured rib

The Eagles are stinging not only from their 17-12 loss to the Redskins Sunday, but also on the injury front with starting QB Michael Vick going down as well as number one running back LeSean McCoy.

Head coach Andy Reid spoke to the media today, and stated that Vick does NOT have any broken ribs or other broken bones after being hit by the Skins at the one-yard line after a run.

Reid said that Vick has a rib cartilage injury, and it is located high, between the second and third ribs. As far as how long Vick is out, that remains up in the air. “We’ll see how he feels, this is going to be a day to day, week to week type of thing,” Reid said.

As far as McCoy goes, he has a rib fracture, and Reid said that they will do further tests on it to see the severity of it. The injury to McCoy took place in the second quarter, and he played through it.

The Eagles are tied with the Redskins and Giants for first in the NFC East with a 2-2 record, and will be in San Francisco to play the 0-4 Niners on Sunday night.
