Chiefs DL Shaun Smith gets a hefty fine for groin strike vs 49ers

Chiefs defensive lineman Shaun Smith has been fined $10,000 by the NFL for his “groin strike” on San Francisco 49ers offensive tackle Anthony Davis, Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com reports. Smith has twice been accused of grabbing at opponents’ genitals in recent weeks.

Browns center Alex Mack made a claim after Week 2, and Davis repeated the allegation after the 49ers’ 31-10 loss to the Chiefs in Week 3. FOX cameras caught Smith’s action, which he was not penalized during the game for. Davis’ retaliation did cost the 49ers 15 yards early in the 3rd quarter.
