Sports Gab Network Columnist Russ Loede’s Week 3 NFL Picks

Week 2 Results ATS: 5-10-1

Season Record ATS: 12-17-3

4-star game, 4 on the confidence meter: Tennessee Titans @ New York Giants (-3) – Eli will have more time to breathe, more time to locate his three amigos Hakeem Nicks, Mario Manningham, and Steve Smith.  Tennessee Titans 13 New York Giants 20

2-star game, 8 on the confidence meter, “Back door cover Special”: Buffalo Bills (+15) @ New England Patriots – “Buffalo head coach Chan Gailey announced that he is looking for a spark and that Ryan Fitzpatrick will start at QB Sunday at New England.”  Call me crazy, but I like it.  Bills reveal Spiller…finally…  Buffalo Bills 17 New England Patriots 31

3-star game, 12 on the confidence meter: Cleveland Browns @ Baltimore Ravens (-11) – When was the last time Cleveland beat Baltimore, let alone any one decent on the road?  Cleveland Browns 3 Baltimore Ravens 24

4-star game, 5 on the confidence meter, “UPSET Special“: Pittsburgh Steelers @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+3) – Josh Freeman, next star QB?  Looks promising.  Raheem Morris, Mike Tomlin’s protege, next defensive mastermind head coach?  Looks like the real deal.  Mike Williams, why did he fall so low?  Next prime time #1 WR.  Pittsburgh Steelers 16 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 19

4-star game, 3 on the confidence meter: Cincinnati Bengals @ Carolina Panthers (+3.5) – Panthers to fans: We gladly welcome you to the Jimmy Clausen era: Where we get back to what we do best, running the football, 30-35 times a game.  Cincinnati Bengals 21 Carolina Panthers 23

5-star game, 16 on the confidence meter, “LOCK Special”: Atlanta Falcons @ New Orleans Saints (-4) – Saints don’t lose at home in the Superdome.  Team is so balanced, so good, its defeated two playoff-caliber teams playing C+ football.  Atlanta Falcons 14 New Orleans Saints 34

4-star game, 13 on the confidence meter: San Francisco 49ers (-3) @ Kansas City Chiefs – Mike Singletary. 49ers shut down the run.  0-3 is not in store.  San Francisco 49ers 23 Kansas City Chiefs 13

4-star game, 9 on the confidence meter: Detroit Lions (+11) @ Minnesota Vikings – LeSean McCoy lit up Detroit.  Adrian Peterson?  Jahvid will be limited/contained.  Detroit Lions 21 Minnesota Vikings 30

5- Star Game of the Week Nominee, 15 on the confidence meter: Dallas Cowboys (+3) @ Houston Texas – Shootout?  I don’t think so.  Give Dallas in a low-scoring affair.  Intense, physical battle favors ‘Boys, trumps Texans.  Dallas Cowboys 24 Houston Texans 20

1-star game, 2 on the confidence meter: Washington Redskins @ St. Louis Rams (+4) – I like my chances with Sam Bradford against Washington’s secondary.  Steve Jackson gets going, Donovan looks ahead to reunion with Philly.  ‘Skins reeling from Houston heart breaker.  Letdown.  Washington Redskins 15 St. Louis Rams 17

4-star game, 11 on the confidence meter: Philadelphia Eagles (-3) @ Jacksonville Jaguars – Vick is the answer.  Offense will be electrifying against shoddy Jags defensive backfield.  Run game exists with #7 under center.  Eagles are poised to go into Week 4 against Washington strong, ready for old signal caller.  Philadelphia Eagles 29 Jacksonville Jaguars 19

3-star game, 14 on the confidence meter: Indianapolis Colts (-6) @ Denver Broncos – No Knowshon.  Colts will tee off on Orton like did Peyton’s brother.  Manning will feast on banged up Denver DB’s.  Colts look scary good.  Indianapolis Colts 44 Denver Broncos 21

2-star game, 6 on the confidence meter: San Diego Chargers @ Seattle Seahawks (+6) – Sneaky back door cover.  San Diego’s just better than Seattle.  Tolbert will be load to handle.  San Diego Chargers 25 Seattle Seahawks 20

1- star game, 1 on the confidence meter: Oakland Raiders (+4.5) @ Arizona Cardinals – Max Hall sighting?  Bruce Gradkowski, actually like Oakland when he is in.  Different, more confident club.  Nnamdi will take care of Larry.  McFadden looks really good, best since days at Fayetteville.  Oakland Raiders 17 Arizona Cardinals 14

4-star game, 8 on the confidence meter: New York Jets (+2) @ Miami Dolphins – Mark Sanchez was impressive against Patriots.  Defense appears to be fine without Revis.  Jets are more aggressive than Dolphins with play-calling, this will be the clincher.  New York Jets 20 Miami Dolphins 17

5-Star Game of the Week Honors, 10 on the confidence meter, “Battle of the QB’s”: Green Bay Packers @ Chicago Bears (+3) – Jay Cutler will protect rock better than Aaron Rodgers.  Bears Matt Forte is the MVP of MNF showdown for NFC North supremacy.  Chicago’s defense bends, but doesn’t break.  Green Bay Packers 17 Chicago Bears 26

Wow, horrible picks, like every single week. You have no clue about football. Your lock of the week prediction was Saints over Falcons 34 to 14. LOL, great pick…dumbass.

  2. Russ Loede says:

    9-7 ATS is a WINNING record…Period.

If you can go over .500 ATS you are golden.

    I didn’t miss on one game after 1 o’clock.
