Raiders do little right in 38-13 beating in Tennessee

1. Contain Chris Johnson

Nope. 23 carries for 59 yards, but then they allowed the 76 yard touchdown run. Exactly what they couldn’t allow.

2. Make Vince Young beat you with the pass

Nope. They allowed him to get outside of the pocket and make plays with his legs, including his 56 yard touchdown pass to Nate Washington.

3. Run the ball

They averaged over 5.5 yards rushing, but did not make it their intent. Darren McFadden had his best running game of his career, but the Raiders did not make it what they were going to focus on.

4. Be Consistent on Offense

Nope. The offensive line was just that, offensive. They couldn’t even give Jason Campbell a breathe. And when Campbell had the chance to get a first down early in the game to keep a drive alive, he slid feet first. A point needs to be made, Bruce Gradkowski would not have done that.

5. Be Special

They weren’t. Sebass missed 2 FG’s (one he was allowed to re-kick and made), and while they didn’t give up any big plays, they didn’t make any either.

It’s only 1 game and the season is 16 games long, and their changes will take some time….but this looks to be another long season.
