Gridiron Gab Week One Preview: Cleveland at Tampa Bay

Cleveland Browns Vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers

When: Sunday September 12th 2010

Where: Raymond James Stadium

Weather:  High 92 Low 76 40% Chance of Rain

Time: 1:00

The team is opening up on the road for the first time in twelve years this Sunday against Tampa Bay. Cleveland  is going into Sunday very confident about the opening game and feel they should get a victory. It’s very important for the team to get this first one and get off to a hot start to gain some confidence.

What to watch for:

Jake Delhomme:

A change of scenery is just what the Quarterback from Carolina needed after a disastrous 2009 season. Delhomme has looked great for the Browns this preseason and will hopefully carry that into the Regular Season. Delhomme needs to limit his turnovers on Sunday and be the leader this team has been lacking since they have been back in 99.

Josh Cribbs:

This will be Cribbs first game since he signed his new contract. Josh has been the leader of this football team and now needs to start this season right where he left off last year. We haven’t seen the ”Wildcat” or ”Cyclone” this preseason but should be out in full force Sunday, in the teams first regular season game . We need Josh to be a threat on offense and special teams for this team to be victorious in the opener.

Rookies:

The kids will have a big role on this football team this year. The team needs them to grow up fast if they want a shot at winning some games this year. Ward is going to have a tough task in Winslow in this Sunday. Lauvao might get the start on the offensive line at guard this week.

Receivers:

Mo Mass and Robiskie have been knocked by the media since being drafted by the Browns last season. They both should be a lot better this year do to Quinn and Anderson not throwing them the ball. I am looking for both of them to have a great sophomore season and great opening game against the Bucs.

Keys to the Game:

Win the Turnover Battle

Establish the running game

Hit Winslow Hard and Often

Pressure the Quarterback

Prediction:

Browns 28 Buccaneers 10
