With Sidney Rice out for half of this season, we know that other receivers are going to have to step up and play expanded roles in the offense.
One of those players is last year’s Rookie of the Year, Percy Harvin.
Harvin typically sees playing time in the slot position, but it sounds like he is excited about sliding to the outside a little more often this year.
“My eyes get wider,” said Harvin. “I always don’t have to go down there and worry about defensive backs, safeties and linebackers. I get to go out there and play in a little more space. For me, there is nothing else better. … The more space [I have] the better I am.”
Harvin is still expected to play out of the slot when the Viking sline up with three recievers, leaving Bernard Berrian and Greg Camarillo on the outside.
