NFL.com has published a feature that gives readers a look at how each of their seven experts sees the 2010 season playing out.
Interestingly, all seven (Vic Carucci, Gil Brandt, Bucky Brooks, Pat Kirwan, Jason La Canfora, Michael Lombardi, and Steve Wyche) see the Green Bay Packers making the big game.
No pressure, Aaron Rodgers.
But analyst Pat Kirwan, former NFL front office man, sees the Bengals beating the Packers in the big game. He sees Cincinnati winning the AFC North for the second consecutive year, and defeating the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC Championship.
Nice recognition for the talent the Bengals have put together, and the high expectations we have for our stars in stripes.
But relax, you don’t have to worry about the players getting a big head over it. The other 6 experts weren’t quite as excited about Cincy’s chances. In fact only 2 others saw the Bengals making the playoffs (Lombardi and Wyche) and both had them as wildcards.
Five of them had the Ravens winning the division, and one (Bucky Brooks) had the Steelers winning it. Brandt, Brooks and La Canfora all had the Ravens making it all the way to the big game, with Brandt giving them the title over Green Bay.
As a nice aside, Wyche picked Jermaine Gresham as his preseason offensive rookie of the year.
T-minus one week to start sorting it out…
