Houshmandzadeh Narrows List Of Teams to Two

Hopefully in the not-too-distant future, we will find out who former Seattle Seahawks wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh will eventually sign with as he is probably in the upper tier of free agent WRs up for grabs for all of the 32 NFL teams.

One hint that he may be singing with a team relatively soon is a report by The Seattle Times, which says that Houshmandzadeh has narrowed his list of teams to two: the Oakland Raiders and Washington Redskins.

Several teams passed on the 10-year veteran, including the Minnesota Vikings, Cincinnati Bengals (not a surprise there as he would be the #3 WR behind Chad Ochocinco and Terrell Owens) and the Cleveland Browns. Interesting that the Browns would pass on Houshmandzadeh as he’d easily, in my humble opinion, be the #1 option at wideout.

From a statistical standpoint, it is hard to say whether he would do better in Oakland or Washington. When more information on the possibility of Houshmandzadeh signing with the aforementioned NFL franchises become available, NFL Gridiron Gab will bring it to you.

  1. The Guru says:

Another SCOOP for the Seattle Times. Oops, proven to be incorrect again. Go grab yourself a Starbucks and quit with the news “creationism”

  2. Methinks the scribes @ The Times secretly wanted TJ sticking around – not that you could blame them, if that was the case.
