Vikings Hope Money And/Or Time Was The Issue with Favre

Brett Favre was set to make $13 million for playing out the 2010 season as a Minnesota Viking.

Despite the fact that Brad Childress had not heard anything (eye roll) suggesting Favre had decided to re-re-retire on Monday night, it appears that the Vikings are going to do everything in their power to persuade him to do otherwise.

According to multiple reports, the Vikings brass are considering offering Favre more money and more time to make his final decision.

If I understand all of the “uncapped year” rules, the Vikings could offer Brett up to $16.9 million in 2010 and probably include some additional bonus money.  Even if his ankle is bothering him that badly, I would be surprised if he didn’t accept an offer of that magnitude.

In other news, Colt Brennan was cut by the Redskins yesterday.
