Tests to Hopefully Shed Light on Ravens OT Gaither

The drama surrounding Offensive Tackle Jared Gaither has taken another interesting turn over the past few days.

Gaither is expected to be sent Monday for blood tests to determine why he mas missed two straight days of practice. Initially when Gaither was carted off the field during the week it was explained away as “cramps”. Since then the 6?9? lineman still hasn’t been back on the field and no one seems to know why.

It’s interesting to note that Gaither only practiced a few times in the off-season due to a foot injury. He then reported to camp almost 30 pounds lighter than the year before. Does any of this have anything to due with Gaither’s inability to practice? I have no idea and neither does the team.

While the loss of Domonique Foxworth has been the headline in camp to go along with several Corners who are on the mend, the Offensive Tackle position has been snake bit as well. Oneil Cousins is still on the PUP due to his off season surgery to remove a cyst from his esophagus and both Tony Moll and Stefan Rodgers are injured. That leaves only Michael Oher, Joe Reitz and rookie Ramon Harewood as the only healthy tackles able to practice.

It’s another situation that bears watching during this young camp.
