Ravens CB Foxworth Tears ACL – Out For Season

From Jamison Hensley of the Baltimore Sun via Twitter:

7/30 at 10:40 am: jamisonhensley: Foxworth out for season with torn ACL. On crutches now.

What I’ve been able to piece together so far is that the injury occured during yesterday’s practice which was closed to the media. It was unusual since it was noted that there was no contact that caused the tear. Foxworth was taking part in a drill, turned and went down.

The hex is on this Ravens secondary. The team had just gotten some good news on Fabian Washington as he was removed from the PUP yesterday. That hope has been crushed with today’s report. Now with Baltimore’s de-facto #1 corner out for the year that leaves Baltimore with Chris Carr and Travis Fisher working with the first team.

I can’t say I like the sound of that.

What will the Ravens next move be? The Free Agent pool seems fairly thin so I can’t think of anyone that the team would immediately pursue. I’m sure the team is hoping that Washington and Walt Harris are fit for service – and soon.
