Although Donovan McNabb is getting a new start in Washington, it seems that everyone’s favorite questions involve his past in Philadelphia. In his latest interview with Adam Shefter, Donovan had the following things to say:
I was appreciated in Philadelphia. I think a lot of that is overblown. I was loved in Philadelphia.
Andy and I are good friends, we’ve been good friends over 11 years. I wish him luck.
Many people will talk about how McNabb was booed on draft day and that he was not appreciated because he didn’t bring home a Super Bowl. However, I still think a lot of people (including myself) are thankful for the success that he brought to this city. There’s also no doubt that he’s the best quarterback in franchise history (hopefully to be surpassed soon by Kevin Kolb).
I feel a bit sorry for McNabb constantly being questioned about his time in Philadelphia. You know that his focus is now on the Redskins and he is ready to move on without any grudges.
Donovan McNabb will always have a special place in Eagles’ fans hearts (even for the haters).
