Texans RB Slaton Tweets He’s Back and Ready to Go

“Thanks everyone for your thoughts but …………. I’m back”
“Thank you lord for watching over me and helping me heal fast and correctly”

Are two of the latest posts on Houston Texans RB Steve Slaton’s Twitter.  Although the Texans have yet to officially clear him medically for participation in training camp, the expectation is there that Slaton will be back for contact drills come July 31.  Slaton underwent cervical neck fusion surgery this offseason, and he will be vying for playing time against expected-starter Arian Foster and rookie Ben Tate.  Slaton, originally drafted as a third down back,  should have time to ease back into his position with the Texans, if not regain his starting role if Foster and Tate do not pan out.
