The Houston Chronicle reported Friday that Texans TE Owen Daniels signed his restricted free-agent tender and will remain with the team for at least one more year. Daniels is by far the best tight end in the Texans’ franchise history, with a wide gap between him and former Texan TE Billy Miller. Statistically, Daniels ranks second on the franchise list in receptions (207) and receiving yards (2,501). He is currently recovering from an ACL tear in his knee, and he is expected to miss training camps.
