Rams lose 2nd round pick for OTA’s

The Rams second round draft pick Rodger Saffold sprained his knee in OTAs and will miss 2-3 weeks of minicamps and OTAs.  Not a huge deal because it is the offseason, but it is not a good sign for the young tackle.  The Rams were hoping that Saffold would start on the right side of the offensive line in 2010, but this should open up early chances for Phil Trautwein and Adam Goldberg at right tackle.

Hopefully this is not a sign of things to come for the Rams offensive line which has had two injury prone years in a row.

To cover for Saffold, the Rams have signed undrafted free agent Joe Gibbs (no, not THAT Joe Gibbs) from the University of Tennessee-Martin.
