Jets LB David Harris looking for an extension

The Newark Star-Ledger reports that David Harris is another player that is looking for an extension from the Jets, as he gets set to enter the final year of his deal:

Jets linebacker David Harris, who is entering the final year of his four-year rookie contract, admitted that he’d like an extension as well. “Hopefully, I will,” Harris said about getting a new done before the start of the season. “But my job as an athlete and football player is to go out there and play ball. My agent will handle the rest. We all know what kind of situation we’re in with the possible lockout and the CBA. So hopefully, it will get done. But that’s the pickle we’re in right now.” So, have the Jets begun discussions on a new deal yet? “Not that I can talk about right now,” Harris said with a laugh. “Hopefully, I’ll be able to get back to you afterwards.” Harris insisted that he isn’t overly concerned about his contractual future. “I’m going in the last year of my contract,” Harris said. “I’m still under contract for one more year. If I go out and do my job and stay healthy, hopefully everything works out.”
