Tight End Carlson to Experience Break-out Season in 2010?

John Carlson turned 26 today, but the attention he got on Twitter was probably not what he was expecting.

The Seahawks tight end became the hotbed of debate after teammate and Seattle quarterback Matt Hasselbeck called him “this year’s fantasy sleeper” because “he is [the team’s] new slot guy now that [Seattle] signed Chris Baker as [the team’s] new ‘Daniel Graham’ TE.

As Danny O’Neil of the Seattle Times reported, ESPN’s Adam Schefter and former Seattle head coach Jim Mora Jr. weighed in, with the latter appearing to wage a mini argument with his former starting quarterback in Seattle.

Whether or not Carlson does break out is months away from taking place, if it indeed happens, but what is clear at the moment is that Carlson and the rest of the Seattle aerial attack won’t resemble the unit that finished 15TH in the league in passing yards per game and 20TH in passing touchdowns.
