Vikings miss on adding another wide out

Is a wide receiver group consisting of Sidney Rice, Bernard Berrian, Percy Harvin, Greg Lewis, Jaymar Johnson, Joe Webb, Taye Biddle, Tindal Kelton, Aaron Rhea and Ray Small good enough?

Apparently not.

The Vikings reportedly made a waiver claim on receiver Marko Mitchell after the Redskins released him on Tuesday.  Mitchell ended up going to Detroit, as they also made a claim and have the “power” of being first in line to make claims because of their poor 2009 record.

As a seventh round pick for the ‘Skins, Mitchell had a solid preseason but ended up only catching four passes for 32 yards during the regular season (played in 10 games).

While it didn’t work out, it is interesting to see that the Vikings would consider adding more depth to a team that already has 10 wide outs on the roster.

The Lions are second in line. St. Louis is first.

You are correct, I should have clarified I meant “first in line” when talking about just the Vikes and Lions.

  3. No matter how many receivers they are going to have, they are now most urgent to have top quarterback passing balls to the receivers.
