The Jets do not appear to be standing pat in the wide out spot, more so with new wide out Santonio Holmes being suspended for the first four games of the 2010 season. So with the team looking at possible matches, they are talking to former Jet WR Laveranues Coles:
The New York Jets could use some experienced depth at wide receiver, especially since Santonio Holmes is suspended for the first four games of the regular season for violating the NFL substance abuse policy. So, the Jets are reportedly staying in touch with veteran wide receiver Laveranues Coles.
Coles is coming off a shaky season with the Cincinnati Bengals, but remains fairly productive and could figure in as a third receiver option, according to ESPN. Per the report, a deal might not happen until as late as training camp.
