Could Spiller Be Off the Board When Seattle Picks at 14?

According to Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News, the New York Giants have reached out to former Clemson running back C.J. Spiller to make sure the team has his correct phone number in case they need to reach him during the draft.

Vacchiano, like many others – including yours truly, believe Spiller won’t be available when the Giants pick at #15 tonight.  So if the Giants are as enamored with the electric back as Vacchiano wrote in his piece, they’ll have to move ahead of Seattle at #14.

If this happens, Seattle could pick Ryan Mathews, a running back out of Fresno State, at #14.  Or the team could move to another hole in its roster.  A third option would be something Danny O’Neil of the Seattle Times indicated that the Seahawks are interested in doing, trading down.

Make sure to check back here at and over at throughout the day leading up to the Draft and routinely during the event as I’ll bring you the latest news and analysis on Seattle’s selections and potential moves.
