Jacksonville sends DE Quentin Groves to the Raiders

With the draft just a day away, a deal was made today involving the Raiders – but it wasn’t for Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger. Instead, the Raiders have gotten Jags DE Quentin Groves, as the player himself put on his twitter that he has been moved to the Raiders.

Jaguars defensive end Quentin Groves left the following message Wednesday afternoon: “Duval County…. I LOVE U GUYS…thanks for all your support…New Starts=New Beginnings…OAKLAND HERE I COME!!!!”

Groves also changed his avatar to the Raiders insignia. No one from either team has confirmed Groves’ news, but the account has been verified previously as Groves’ account.

The DE was drafted in 21st spot of the second round (52nd overall) of the 2008 NFL Draft by the Jaguars. The Jaguars traded with Tampa Bay to move up six spots in order to select Groves.

  1. Bozeman says:

This is a good move for the Raiders. I think both teams got what they were looking for, and the Raiders were old at the position.

  2. Just wonderin’ – what did Groves do to deserve such a fate?
