Quarterback situation for the Eagles heating up

Donovan McNabb

This has been a popular topic all offseason but boy oh boy is it heating up now. First, we had Andy Reid admitting that every one of their quarterbacks had a price, even his golden boy Donovan McNabb. Then we hear Donovan repeat that he wants to remain in Philadelphia, but if he’s going to be moved he wants it to be as soon as possible.

Things are definitely heating up and after starting to have a feeling that McNabb would be around in 2010, I’m starting to feel that he won’t. Rumors are saying he could be traded as soon as Friday. Although I’m not believing that as a concrete date, I do feel that the move will definitely happen before the draft, maybe in the beginning of April.

Possible suitors right now include St. Louis, Buffalo, Oakland, and maybe even Seattle. There could be other teams that draw interest after hearing all of this as well, but those are the popular names right now. These are teams with high first round picks so you have to start looking at second round picks. However, high first round picks also mean high second round picks and I would definitely be content with that. There could be other scenarios with the Eagles packaging something else with McNabb and getting a higher first round pick.

It has been somewhat frustrating writing about this topic as talks arise and then get shot down very quickly but it seems at this point that a move could come very soon.
