Eagles Replace Special Teams Coach Ted Daisher with Bobby April

The Eagles have fired special teams coach Ted Daisher and replaced him with Bobby April. April used to handle the special teams duties for the Buffalo Bills. There were reports that he was being pursued by the Pittsburgh Steelers and Washington Redskins; however, the Eagles were able to pick him up.

This doesn’t come as a big surprise as the Eagles special teams unit was far from stellar this year. They turned in a couple of big plays from DeSean Jackson but a large part of that is due to his personal athletic talent and ability to make plays. There were a lot of mistakes made in the kick return game and the team failed to find a consistent return man.

Note: Mike Wolf and Jay Merlino, two members of the strength and conditioning staff, were also fired.
