Are the Browns Not Paying Cribbs Top Dollar a Smart Move?

With the recent contract of Devin Hester getting top dollar, is not paying Josh Cribbs top dollar smart? I believe so, I think Cribbs needs to get paid more money then what he is currently. Cribbs is a Return man but also did help the offense this year move the football the last part of the season.

Cribbs without a doubt is a asset to this team and could help them in the future. I ask you if the offense and defense gets more talent in the off season and can move the ball more effectively, does the value of Cribbs drop? If Josh Cribbs wouldn’t of turned out to be the player he is today, would he have given money back? Cribbs does deserve a raise and has been first class through this whole debacle until recently.

Really Josh, clean out your locker and say you have played your last down with the Cleveland Browns. With Holmgren really just starting this week cleaning up this mess you go public Wednesday. His agents also are to blame for this. The Cleveland Browns don’t have a GM yet, just this week found out that they are keeping Mangini and did make Cribbs an offer.

Cribbs agents didn’t even come back with a counter offer, they just went public trying to humiliate the organization. I am not saying Cribbs does not deserve a raise but he is acted like a team player all season just to act like a child now. Cribbs also said he isn’t going to complain to the fans because this a blue collar town and they don’t want to hear it. What about 1.4 million you call that an insult.

How many fans are making 1.4 million. I do love Cribbs and hope he is a Brown forever but he needed to act a little different then what has happened this past week.

Pay the fucking man jesus. He acted like a team player all year because he didn’t wanna negatively affect the season. The season is done now. In my eyes, he can act however the hell he wants to considering the type of impact he’s made.

You really think 1.4 million is alot, what about all the time he is on the road away from his family, all the time that he has to be at practice on time, all his sore muscles one week, but he still manages to be the best at what he does, he is a great kick returner. 1.4 is NOT tolerable, he deserves more than that after scoring more than 25% of all the Cleveland Browns TD’s. Next time you try to speak s**t about him think how little he earns for all the work he does. And yeah, all the fans want 1.4 million dollars but I don’t see you or other fans playing week after week, practice after practice. He hasn’t complained once the whole season when he could have so next time just think a little……………. PAY THE MAN !

Randy, you are a jackass!! Josh cribbs has been the greatest impact player for the browns for the last decade.. Josh Cribbs is an IMPACT player a game CHANGER. 1.4 is chump change for a impact player who returns kicks, covers kickoff, runningback, Wr, through a BETTER ball than the two QB,s that started. I repeat Randy you are a Jackass!!

Cribbs should get at least as much as any top flight wide receiver in the league. 1.4 million is an insult, but that was the first offer.

In my opinion Cribbs and the team need to sit down at the table and negotiate this out. The drama is unnecessary.

Let him go, think about it you lock up all your money on a return man vs a QB or RB, top DE or TE or big LB? they are on the feild the entire game. The Browns will never beat the Bengals anyway so let him go or be the laughing joke of the NFL and pay him Peyton Manning $ either way, I don`t care if its Brown flush it down!

This is what the Brown do each season lose there best team player due to BS. They would pay a lot of non- affectived player than to have a good player and pay for him. This is what happens in Cleveland Corporate American not only in Football or Basketball. There is a Omen here at work

How embarassing…. Every fan (including me) lined up behind this guy because of what he did for the team. The browns DO need to offer him a better contract, but he owes the fans and the team an apology for his attitude. The team does not really owe him anything. He signed the contract, and by signing it, he probably took advantage of his ONE shot to get into the NFL.
