Chiefs Activate RB Kolby Smith; Release Veteran WR Bobby Engram

The Chiefs official website today reports that the team has called up RB Kolby Smith, and dumped veteran WR Bobby Engram, who had made little impact on the team so far:

The Kansas City Chiefs announced on Saturday that the club has activated RB Kolby Smith from the Reserve/Physically-Unable-to-Perform List. Smith (5-11, 219) has played in 23 games (nine starts) with Kansas City, rushing 147 times for 507 yards (3.4 avg.) with three TDs and catching 32 passes for 200 yards (6.3 avg.). To make room on the roster the Chiefs released WR Bobby Engram on Saturday who played in five games for Kansas City in 2009, catching five passes for 61 yards.
