Raiders Need to Face the Truth – There’s No Accountability

That’s It…That’s All you can Say?!

Quotations that were put out by 3 main Raider persons after the debacle on Sunday:

“We’ve just got to keep fighting,” Russell said. “It’s got to be a brighter day. At the end of that tunnel, there’s got to be a brighter light.”

“At some point, you’ve got to draw a line in the sand, put your foot down, and say, ‘That’s enough,’ you know?” said beleaguered coach Tom Cable

“We couldn’t stop anything,” Raiders defensive end Richard Seymour said. “That’s a bad feeling when you are out there and they are running whatever plays they want to. The third or fourth quarter I think they had their backups in the game and they were still doing whatever they wanted to offensively. There is no excuse for that and everybody has to look themselves in the mirror and say, ‘I have to do a better job.'”

Are you kidding me, really? This once proud organization has now gone through the worst 100 game stretch in NFL history, has not won more than 5 games since 2002, is showing now over a 2 year period the most inept offense that is imaginable, and your solace to the most devoted fans in the league is now we must keep fighting, to draw a line in the sand, to do a better job?

This organization, from top down, has not shown one iota of any hope to its fans. There is no accountability at the owner level who hires “yes Al” into the organization instead of putting in people that would establish an identity and acquire talent that fits that identity. And please, the throw deep and let’s rush 4 and drop 7 every time is not an identity, it’s living in the past.

Scary part is…they win a game or 2 like they luckily did versus the KC Chiefs, the organization will say, see, we knew what we were doing. Which is further than the truth…

Mr Russell the QB of the Raiders is seeming like he will be the biggest bust in the NFL.This organization has fallen from grace completley and to get dominated like they did sunday n\by the Giants was absurd!

You know what? I am so sik and tired of evryone blaming Al Davis for the ills of the Raiders. He has gone out and gotten some great picks in the draft year after year. It is not his fault these players don’t live up to their billing. I blame the players for their total lack of “Committment” and the idiot coaches who couldn’t strategize a win in pee-wee football. If Al is to blame for this mess then what happned in 2002 and prior??? Oh, I guess he had it together then but now….nooooooo! Listen, I have been a VERY long time Raider fan and I am just as sick as everyone else. However, the accountability lies with the coaching staff and the players who do not understand what it is to be a Raider! I with you Al! These blame-gamers don’t understand who you are or what you and the Silver & Black stand for. Hey players and coaches – watch some old games and footage to find out who you are supposed to be and see who your owner truly is!

You sound like you work for Mr. Davis….a culture of ineptitude and a lack of accountability is what Mr. Davis has created. Gruden/Gannon often went against this culture and the pre-Gruden era after 1989 was almost as bad as it is now. Playing 70’s football and having an ego larger than most has brought us Raider fans to this point. My season tickets were not renewed this year….
