Lions’ Culpepper To Start vs. Steelers

Courtesy of a knee injury, Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford will sit out Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers; Daunte Culpepper will take his place. To recap how Culpepper got the start this week, Stafford injured his kneecap during last week’s loss to the Chicago Bears – of which it has not been determined to date the type of injury he incurred.

The rookie QB missed team drills on Wednesday and Thursday but did participate on a limited basis on Friday. Until it is known how severe Stafford’s knee injury is, it is speculative to say how long Culpepper will continue to start for the Lions. But keep in mind that it is not exactly a state secret that Culpepper is still looking for a starting job in the NFL; perhaps how he performs this weekend will go a long way in determining this.
