NFL Gridiron Gab gets an exclusive 1-on-1 with Jets safety Kerry Rhodes as the team closes in on a huge AFC showdown vs the Jets on Sunday at the Meadowlands:

1. How big of a boost was the early season win over the Pats last week?

It was big because it was a division game and a home game. To win your division in this league, you have to win your home games, and we did! That’s what made that win so big.

2. There was a lot of back and forth before the game – how much trash talking was there during it?

During it, there wasn’t much trash talking going on. Fred Taylor and I went back and forth a little but it was all in fun! I respect him as a player in this game and he respects me, so it was fun.

3. The Jets had struggled recently vs the Pats – what was different this time in the win?

I think it was just the confidence we had coming into the game. We all actually went into that game believing that we were the better team, and it was awesome!

4. You take on a Titans team that is 0-2 and desperate for a win, your early thoughts on the game?

It will definitely be a hard fought game. We can appreciate them coming here confident and needing a win, so this game will not be taken lightly! I think the most physical team up front wins this game.

5. Can you take anything from last seasons win over the Titans into the game this week?

Not too much, but they have basically the same players and do the same thing.

6. How much of a factor was the home crowd last week, and do you expect the same this week?

The crowd was unbelievable! They took the noise up a couple decibels and made life tough for New England. I think with all the love we gave them for it, that’s going to be the new trend. And we welcome it!
