Rice, Smith Headline Hall Of Fame Nominees

Lots of nominees – 131, to be exact – are on the list for the Pro Football Hall of Fame, which will take place in Canton, Ohio.

This year’s list has some heavy hitters, including former San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jerry Rice, former Dallas Cowboys running back Emmitt Smith, WR Tim Brown, RB Herschel Walker, WR’s Cris Carter and Andre Reed and tight end Sterling Sharpe along with former NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue.

They are joined on the nominations list by two previously announced senior nominees: former Detroit Lions cornerback Dick LeBeau and former Denver Broncos RB Floyd Little. Hall of Fame selectors will choose semifinalists by November 27 and 15 finalists by December January 7, 2010; The voting will take place on February 6 – the day before the Super Bowl.
