Chargers Still Working on Key Injuries Heading Into Sunday

It’s only about 48 hours until the San Diego Chargers host the Baltimore Ravens and it is looking more likely that when the ball is kicked off, some key starters will be watching from the sidelines.

On Tuesday, seven of the Chargers starters did not participate: Travis Johnson (groin), Antwan Applewhite (hamstring), Jamal Williams (arm), Ladainian Tomlinson (ankle), Marcus McNeill (hand), Nick Hardwick (ankle), Louis Vasquez (knee) and Mike Scifres (groin).

On Wednesday Williams and Scifres returned to practice in a limited participation and McNeill returned to full participation but Johnson, Applewhite, Tomlinson, Hardwick and Vasquez were still unable to return to the field.

Although not completely ruled out yet, when asked if players that are still missing from the practice field would start Sunday, Norv Turner had this to say: “The odds go against you. The guys that practice today have a better chance. For the other guys, their chances go down.”

Later today the team will officially update their status for Sunday’s game.
