I think we all already know about the accusations against Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger; however, for those who are not up to speed, basically, the Steelers star QB has been accused by a Nevada casino worker of sexually assaulting her.
While the lawsuit has been filed, it is the lawsuit in question that is rather unusual – to say the least. According to the suit, the woman who accused Roethlisberger wants him to admit to the allegations, apologize and get this – donate $100,000 to the Committee to Aid Abused Women, a Reno nonprofit that offers support to domestic violence victims.
And as would be expected, Big Ben’s attorney, David cornwell, turned that offer down flat. In a statement, Cornwell said that the proposal insults all women who actually have legitimately suffered from secual misconduct.
Other than the fact that the lawsuit and the proposal by the plaintiff are rather strange, this lawsuit will get the Colonel Klink treatment (with apologies to Hogan’s Heroes). The judge, I predict will “dismiss” this one – a no-brainer in this instance.
