Talk Favre All You Want; This is Peterson’s Team

Hopefully after watching The Minnesota Vikings Football game on Monday night we can make a few wild guesses as far as the roles some players and coaches will be in.

This is Adrian’s football team. The offense is built to help and support his type of running.  One man does not make a team but Adrian Peterson is the catalyst that will ignite this team.  One long run does not make a rushing title but we can be sure that every team we play will try to stop those 75 yard runs. That will open up the vertical passing game.

In comes Brett Favre.  We know Favre can lead a team but can he manage a raging rushing offense like the Minnesota Vikings have?  His restraint will be to manage the game. Still taking what the defense gives you. I really feel Favre was having a great time just handing the ball off to our great running backs. I know he wants to fire the ball down field and score points but he also knows that will open up after our running game pounds the defensive line a few times.

In my wildest dreams I never thought I would ever see a Vikings offensive audible again.  My dreams continued with thoughts of perfectly thrown balls on screen plays and who would ever think you would see a ball thrown to a receiver in stride?

Maybe it has been too long since I have seen a quality quarterback in MN. Watching Favre in the pocket and actually looking off defensive backs was an instant rush of adrenalin.

The excitement is building for the coaching staff too. Let’s hope that with the experience that Favre brings to the field that Childress opens up his playbook.  Favre is a great leader on the field and yet I believe he is almost content to just be the quarterback and that’s all. Yes, there was an “almost” in there. This will be a NEW Brett Favre!

We have an exciting array of offensive weapons that will fill the field. WR/TE/RB/QB.

The experience of #4 will make the defense pay when they screw up coverage on any one of them.  Just watching this game was exhilarating. Every play gave you the feeling that the Vikings could go the distance.  This TEAM will be fun to watch.
