The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports that the Saints are going to bring in former rival linebacker Derrick Brooks for a workout.
New Orleans Saints Coach Sean Payton said the team is bringing in former Tampa Bay Bucs linebacker Derrick Brooks for a workout. But he offered no more information. “We typically don’t comment on players before we see them work out,” Payton said. Brooks has been an 11-time Pro Bowler, making it every season from 1997-2008 except for 2007.
Brooks would be an asset to the Saints linebacker core. He’s been looking for a team to take him on, but this is the first time from reports that a team has brought him in for an actual workout. We’ll see if he does enough to earn a roster spot for the Saints.
