The Dolphins have already been told that Ricky Williams won’t be around much longer, as he’s said he wants to walk away from football after two more years. One back they do want to keep in the fold though is Ronnie Brown, and the Miami Herald wrote over the weekend that the team wants to keep Brown around with a new deal:
The Dolphins indicated they want to make a multiyear commitment to potential 2010 free agent Ronnie Brown and have had preliminary conversations about a contract extension, agent Todd France said. The sides will speak further during training camp.
Brown has been around for five seasons, and has run for 3433 yards and 23 career touchdowns, including 10 last season. He was also a key to the teams “wildcat” offense last season, and will be counted on heavily again this year, which is a good reason to lock him up.
