Count Vikings All Pro defensive end Jared Allen as someone who really wants to see the Brett Favre saga come to an end – one way or another. Allen is the latest player to speak his mind on Favre, this coming as he could be teammates with Favre in just a matter of days.
“If we get Brett, then that’s a bonus,” Allen told the Chicago Tribune. “But let’s either get it done and get moving on with it or let it go. It’s not so much that it’s a distraction because we’re professionals and don’t really buy into that. But it’s annoying.”
Annoying is about the only word to describe it these days, as Favre continues to drag on what everyone knows, he’s going to be a Minnesota Viking in 2009. Allen is one that is never shy when it comes to speaking his mind, and he’s probably not the only one that wants to get this drama over with.
“Our goals going into the off-season weren’t, let’s win a championship if we get Brett Favre” Allen said. “It’s, we’re going to win a championship. And I feel like we have two able quarterbacks to get that done.”
Favre continues to say that he plans to give the Vikings an answer by July 30th.
