Packers Great Hornung Says Favre Won’t Win with the Vikings

Put Packers great Paul Hornung on the list of non-Brett Favre fans these days. The 73-year-old Hornung spoke recently at the Marshview Conservation Club’s 10th annual sports banquet, and said that he thinks the next Brett Favre sideshow in Minnesota is going to turn out bad, and he’s even willing to bet on it.

“(Favre) ain’t going to win in Minnesota,” Hornung told the crowd on Tuesday night. “I’ll bet on it.”

Hornung is a friend of Favre, but seems to hold the belief that the veteran QB is not going to be the gunslinger that Packer fans had come to know and love over the years when he puts on the purple of the Vikings. Seems that everyone wants to weigh in on Favre, those that bleed Packer green, and those that don’t.

We shall see soon enough is Hornung is right with his prediction.

As long as he beats the Pack… WHO CARES??? Brett wants to get that last stat.. of beating every team in the NFL. I hope he does it.

Mr. Fat man, more dedicated to getting laid, have another drink…has a bet I’d like to make with him. No one knows & to make out right statements like that is just plain ignorant, talk about a guy who has lived off his past… You & Fran can go out together & have one for the Kipper…

You COMPLETELY mischaracterized whay Hornung said. He actually said that he still considers Favre a friend — those literal words — and nothing about “not being a fan.” Then he went on to say the obligatory thing that he always says to a Packer fan gathering — that the Packers will win the division.

Try to get your info right next time, ok?

DeeJay he actually doesnt have every stat he has never won at the old Dallas Stadium either sooo yeah. He is only coming back to get back at TT. Also he never said that Hornung wasn’t Favre’s friend.

I wouldn’t count out Brett Farve. He has proven year in and out that he gives his all.Look at John Elway after his surgery he went back to back. So now that Farve is healthy I would watch out.His surgery is complete and he is ready to win with the Vikes.Remeber he took the jets close to being a playoff contender. That is talent when you can take a 4-12 team and turn it around in a year. They wetn 9-7 and almost mad the play offs. This only happened due to tha fact of Brett’s injured arm. Look when they beat the Titans the only team at that time that could accomplish this.
