Favre to Make an Announcement on “Joe Buck Live” Tonight?

Will there finally be clarity concerning the story that will not die? Perhaps tonight as Brett Favre is scheduled to appear live this evening in studio on the debut of “Joe Buck Live” on HBO.

Buck, who is Fox’s lead play-by-play voice for the NFL and baseball, was added to the HBO lineup after Bob Costas departed to start working for Major League Baseball’s new network.

Whether an earth shaking announcement is on the horizon or not remains to be seen. But in light of the fact that the Vikings have been rumored to have sent a representative to Mississippi to watch him throw last weekend, it seems like some clarification may be in order.

Many expect that the 18 year NFL veteran will announce that he is now officially Un-retired and will be joining the Minnesota Vikings as their quarterback for the upcoming 2009-10 season.

Or….the news could be one that fans don’t want to hear.. That Favre doesn’t feel he has the drive or desire to compete anymore or that the surgically repaired shoulder isn’t responding the way he wants and he is going to stay retired. ( for now !)

Perhaps there will be no announcement at all or Favre will remain vague and simply create yet more questions then answers as is so often his style. Remember, this guy loves the limelight and controversy so don’t count on anything with a sense of finality being announced.
