Chad Ocho-Cinco has once again not showed up for any offseason workouts, but claims that when the time comes, he’ll be at training camp and be ready to play for the Bengals in 2009.
“Of course, why not go and show off the product?” Ocho-Cinco told NFL Network. “Why not leave my coaches’ mouths wide open? I’m sure all the people in Cincinnati think I’m really not doing that much, but you’ll see the results with the work I’m putting in right now.”
That “work” is Ocho-Cinco has been training as a boxer in order to get faster. Fellow WR Jerome Simpson told NFL Radio on Wednesday that he also feels that despite not being around for the offseason workouts, Ocho-Cinco will be here to (no pun intended) answer the bell.
Carson Palmer may have to find a new go-to WR this year, and with Laveranues Coles joining the team, and with Simpson expected to have a bigger role, Ocho-Cinco better not just assume that he’s going to be able to walk in and have a big year with the club. Motivated or not.
