As the Browns Turn

Braylon Edwards

Add yet another episode to the Cleveland Browns and Braylon Edwards saga.

Now Edwards wants to stay in Cleveland.

For now.

Of course there were all of the draft day rumors of Edwards being traded to the Giants for draft picks.

That never happened.

More recently there were rumors of Edwards being traded to coach Mangini’s former team the New York Jets.

So far that has not happened either.

It does appear that Edwards will stay put in Cleveland, at least for now. and he seems to be happy about this. He says that he wants to get back to “playing good football” and that he is “happy here.”

For how long will he be happy for?

I do believe that Edwards will get back to his old form and be a potential pro-baller. I don’t totally blame his poor 2008 season on him. I blame most of it on the Browns organization for not having a set quarterback all year.

What will the next chapter in this saga be?

Will Edwards resign with us at the end of the season?

Once the season starts, if the Browns feel he will not resign should they trade him at the trade deadline?

Perhaps these questions and more will be answered next time, on As the Browns Turn.
