Titans with Interest in Cardinals WR Boldin

The draft is closing in, and the Titans have their eyes on pass catchers – those in the draft and one that is not. The player that they may actually be eyeing is Cardinals wide out Anquan Boldin. The Tennessean reports that Boldin’s services are of great interest to the Titans. Here is the report:

At a press conference today to discuss this weekend’s NFL Draft, Reinfeldt once again spoke of the possibility of the Titans trading for a receiver and — without naming the player or team — said discussions have taken place. “It’s safe to say we’re always trying to get the team better, so we’ll continue to monitor various situations,’’ Reinfeldt said. “There’s a numbers of players that are discussed at this point and time; that is kind of how it works. But I wouldn’t want to go into the specifics of any of those players or the teams because I don’t think it is fair to the players or the teams.’’ One of the receivers the Titans are interested in is Anquan Boldin, who’s being shopped by Arizona. Reinfeldt declined to discuss Boldin specifically, but sources familiar with the situation said the Titans have contacted the Cardinals and are monitoring the situation, as a number of teams are interested.

The team has already added WR Nate Washington this offseason through free agency, but getting Boldin on board would be a great addition that would right away put the Titans at the top of the AFC as a top contender, even more so than they already are.

Titans should be all over this. This team is not getting any younger. The time is now!!!!!
No need is more evident than wide out. The draft isn’t that deep at the position to begin with, we also have the cap room to get the deal done. If they want a first and third, give em 1,2,and next yrs 2nd. It would send shock waves throughout the league that this team wants to win now, and not hope for the best. They have been very mediocre when it comes to trades or free agency. With our running game, gage in the slot, and washington on the outside, our stout dline, you can take the rest of your picks and reload on defense. We have 10 picks, deal should be done by today or at the draft. So, lets hope im right!!

How about L. White + 1st round pick for Boldin? Cards could then release Edge or include him if the Titans are interested. White is a free agent in 2010, and if he is part of the proposed deal, maybe the Cards are negotiating an extension with his agent? Titans could draft a power back in one of the middle rounds.

Being a titans fan, i know this wont happen. It wont happen because it should happen. Titans are not good at getting bigtime players, chris johnson was a good pick, theyll draft a dt or de in the first round, probably the second round as well, and they wont get boldin, they didnt get holt and that was a lot more probable than this. wont happen. ever. Their still the best though.
