So far this offseason, not a single Vikings player has managed to get their selves in trouble (knock on wood!) which is an unusual occurrence for the Vikings faithful, though a pleasant surprise none-the-less. However, that doesn’t mean that there aren’t looming question marks hanging over the Vikings roster.
Arguably one of the biggest factors that currently face the Vikings 2009 season is the pending suspension of Pat and Kevin Williams. The suspension is being fought in court by the two players after it was imposed by the NFL when the two defensive tackles tested positive for using water pills.
A trial date is set for June 15th, which is a long time to wait before finding out if your team is going to lose two of its best starters for four games each.
However, Kevin Williams didn’t sound overly worried in a recent article by Chip Scoggins. Williams said, “They set the date and whatever comes out of that, comes out of that. But our mindframe is we’ll be ready when the season kicks off. I just hope the right thing is done. That’s all we can do. We’ll take it from there.”
We will keep you updated on any news coming about regarding the suspensions.
