WR Galloway a Big Fan of the Patriots Way of Business

Saints Buccaneers Football
He likes it! Hey Joey!

We have further confirmation that all is right with Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. And it comes in the guise of Joey Galloway.

Galloway, a 14 year veteran of the NFL, has signed with the Patriots after being cut by the Buccaneers. The wide-receiver, after playing for three teams and many quarterbacks, was looking for an elite team – a team with a real chance of winning the prize – to play for. Galloway, who has 6, 1000 yards receiving seasons, was looking for a team that had a stable QB in place and the fact that the Pats were interested in his was a bonus.

He admits that he has been a long-time fan of both Robert Kraft and Tom Brady and even though he visited both the Bills and the Steelers after being cut by the Buccs, the chance to play here in New England and with Tom Brady was what he wanted. Galloway had a rough season last year where he was limited to just nine games because of a broken foot. But his career numbers are good. His 15.7-yards-per-catch career average is the highest of any active player with 300 or more receptions. Oh – and who is number 2 on that list? Randy Moss is second at 15.66. Nice to have both the number 1 & number 2 on the same team.

Galloway knows he won’t be Brady’s number one target; that honor belongs to both Randy Moss and Wes Welker. He doesn’t even care if he is the 5th receiver. He is just going to do his best to be prepared for whatever is asked of him by the Patriots. And I like that the guy who put such a priority on signing with a team with an elite quarterback, who is ready to play, chose the Patriots. It just confirms for me that all is right with Brady and that trading Cassel wasn’t a mistake.

“Cause after all – Joey likes.
