Depending on who you listen too, Panthers franchised DE Julius Peppers is either not going anywhere, or is going to be in New England in the not to distant future. Peppers, who has said for awhile that he wants out of the Panthers organization, says he’d like to play for the Pats, but the Panthers on Tuesday said that the DE is not on the trading block.
Peppers has thrown out the Pats, as well as the Cowboys and two other NFC teams that are being kept a secret as the fourth that he would like to play for. There are some things that have to happen though for Peppers and the Panthers before he goes anywhere, one thing of course is that the Panthers have to have a deal on the table that they like.
For now, Panthers GM Marty Hurney said in a statement Monday they’ve not been presented with any trade proposals. Peppers, who was the number 2 overall pick in the 2002 draft, says he would like to play in a 3-4 defense where he can play outside linebacker.
