The supposed meeting that was supposed to clear the air between Broncos QB Jay Cutler and new coach Josh McDaniels has done just the opposite according to the Denver Post. The paper stated on Sunday that McDaniels and Cutler actually “exchanged words” during the meeting, and that “no reconciliation was reached.”
The paper says that attending the meeting was Cutler’s agent – Bus Cook, Cutler, McDaniels and Broncos general manager Brian Xanders. “There was a brief meeting Saturday morning and we agreed to regroup and continue to have conversations,” a Broncos spokesman told The Denver Post Sunday. “The Broncos reinforced to Jay and his agent that they have been honest with them since Day One.”
Despite there being an issue between Cutler and McDaniels, the QB had said that he’ll be there when the coach has his first team meeting at 8am on Monday morning. Now though with the latest turn of events, it remains to be seen if the QB actually does show up.
Team officials still say that Cutler will not be traded, but if things continue to get worse between Cutler and McDaniels, you have to wonder if those thoughts of a trade are going to pop up again.
