Ravens Veteran CB Rolle Expected to Be Released Monday

As reported by the sun…

Samari Rolle expects to be granted his release from the Ravens on Monday, the four-year starting cornerback told The Baltimore Sun today.

Rolle, 32, envisioned a diminished role after the team signed Domonique Foxworth on the first day of free agency.

“I anticipate it happening. I’m happy,” Rolle told The Sun. “Everyone got what they wanted out of this. I wish the Ravens nothing but the best of luck.”

I like this move. Samari is 32 years old and it looked like he’s been dropping off for a while. He saw that the team was making moves to get younger, essentially signing guys to replace him, and wanted out. By all accounts, this is about as amicable a split as anybody could hope for. It looks like starters at CB will be Fabian Washington and the newly acquired Dominique Foxworth.

The Ravens have also talked to free agent CB’s and Special Teams standouts Karl Paymah (Denver Broncos) and Jarret Bush (Green Bay Packers).
