The Buffalo Bills are taking the risk, as today reports are flying in that WR Terrell Owens and the Bills have come to terms on a one-year deal. Vic Carucci is reporting at NFL.com that the deal is worth $6.5 million. We had reported earlier in the day that coach Dick Jauron requested the talk with Owens, and after the talk with he and his agent, Drew Rosenhaus the deal was sealed.
Fox Sports reported that Owens “has called friends with ties to the team to ask questions about the franchise and Buffalo community, a source said.” Rosenhaus had said on Friday that a couple of teams were in the mix for Owens, but for whatever reason the Bills were the best fit (or were offering the most cash).
Last season Owens had more catches (69), receiving yards (1,052) and touchdowns (10) than any player on the Bills roster. In Buffalo, He’ll play opposite Lee Evans, who in the past two seasons hasn’t come close to matching his 82-catch campaign from 2006.
